Wayne C. Pittman, Jr. Passed Away

Colonel Wayne C. Pittman, Jr. passed away on October 1, 2015.  For the past couple of years, Wayne and his wife Karen had been the editors of the Wright “B” Flyer, Inc newsletter, Wright Landings.  Wayne was a member of the first graduating class of the United States Air Force Academy, and thereafter served 34 years in The United States Air Force.  Wayne and Karen moved to the Dayton area when he retired in 1989 and became active volunteers in many aviation-related groups.  These included The National Museum of The United States Air Force, Wright State University Special Collections and Archives, Aviation Trail, 2003 Committee, the Archives at Carillon Park, and the Wright “B” Flyer, Inc.  While at The National Museum of The United States Air Force, he was involved in the first WWI Flyin.  Wayne was the founder of the B52 Stratofortress Association.
A gathering will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel, on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 5:00 pm.
